UNDER BELLY REMOVAL
January 04, 2000 1:56 PM
As you can see in some of the pictures there is some water damage under the bath. We will have to fix it first and add some cross members also. The tank itself will go in the second hole towards axle. Using thetford toilet valve we will convert the rest to easier to find Valterra valves.

Valterra and Thetford as you know will not interchange. So we go with the most inexpensive. B.K.R.V.

REPAIRING FLOOR & WELDING

After taking half a day. I finally got the sub floor repaired and the frame welded. Took about eight hours to get this far. Tank will soon be in and I will install it and plumb in the 3" and 1 1/2 drain lines. Having lots of fun B.K.R.V.

Typical water damage. This 1971 Safari is probably the cleanest we have seen in a while. Can't judge a book by its cover! B.K.R.V.

GRAY TANK ARRIVED
January 06, 2000 1:44 PM
Well, it didn't take as long as we thought to get here. We opted to use ABS, instead of Poly, simply because ABS is better and lasts longer. Because the wet bath sits on the floor you would have to drop the tank down at least 2 1/2" to go in the top. We drilled a 3" hole in the thick end of the tank so it will hold more water. Install the tank flush with the floor. ABS glue or the black glue is made out of the same material as the tank. DONT SPARE THE GLUE. B.K.R.V.

GRAY WATER TANK ADDTION
Well, the 36 gal. gray water tank is in, plumbed and ready to go. We should only lose a few gallons going into the side with our drain line. Next is the under belly. We use . 040 2024T Alclad that we purchase in 4 x12 sheets. The same that we use on the exterior skin.
