Hello all, I have a very original and excellent condition '51 Clipper. At some point it was "re-muddled" by removal of the dinette and installing a couch, ouch! I would like to re-do the dinette/front bed area to original however and since I don't know where another one is to get dimensions and framing ideas I thought I would post this request. Can anyone provide accurate measurements and really good detail photo's of the front area with original dinette/bed or offer any good suggestions? Again I want it to be original looking as possible. I suspect that the layout is very similar to the Curtis Wright '49 trailers, and you might be able to use that layout if you can find it. Maybe R. J. Dial, or Fred Coldwell on the Vintage Airstream List might be able to point you in the right direction. Check out their website at http://airstream.net/index.html. Your other possibility might be to contact Bob Ashby in Conroe, Texas. Bob is not on the internet, but can be reached by phone at 936-539-1692. He is perhaps the most knowledgeable man around when it comes to Silver Streaks. If he is not familiar with these older models, maybe he can suggest some other place to look.
