Here is a copy of an E-mail that was sent out over the SS mail list by Carl Rogers. I thought it of interest, and have therefore posted a copy of the message here:

Hi to everyone. Thought this might be interesting for some of you. Since I've had my trailer I've been unhappy with the little trim pieces that run from the bottom of the brass wheel well molding and down under the trailer. Mine had deteriorated so badly that whenever I touched them they would crack and fall off. See .002 JPG above.
That ol sun can cause real problems. I couldn't find any of the original grey plastic or vinyl molding that would work so I went to our local Schucks automotive and picked up a package of door edge molding that goes on the edges of car doors to protect them from chips. I removed the old trailer molding and cut the new crome stuff to size and installed it and it worked great! The stuff I used was made by trim bright and it comes in Chrome, black and whiteand costs about 4.00. The two 27 inch pieces are enough to do a trailer. It does make the wheel well edges look much better. See .005 JPG.
Tom, would this work on streamlines also? Carl Rodgers
