Tim, I've got a 77 Silver Streak owners manual with wiring and plumbing diagrams Which is 99.9%the same as yours. I"ll be glad to mail you a copy for just the cost of copying and postage (about $6.00) Just let me know your mailing address and I'll pop one in the mail. Carl Rodgers

By Carle Pierose on Saturday, June 09, 2001 - 11:11 pm:

Mr. Rodgers, Is the '77 similar to the '82? If so I would really love to have a copy of the manual. My email is pierose@usc.edu - Thank you so much!

Carl Rodgers. Today I purchased a 77 Silver Streak (33 1/2 foot). The purchase price was incredible - $500.00. It has some minor exterior damage and is filthy on the inside. (Luckily, I know how to clean.) I would like to have a copy of your owners manual. Please email me directly and I will send you my address. Thanks.

I am a proud new owner of a 76' Silver Streak. Can anyone please tell me the best way to clean/polish the outside of the trailer?? Please Email me Directly at mgb34@bellsouth.net

By Tom Patterson on Sunday, June 15, 2003 - 06:10 am:

Basically, you can clean the outside of the trailer. However, it has an anodized finish, which means that it cannot be brought to a shiny state by polishing.

I know that some have removed the anodizing with a combination of sandpaper and acid wash, but this is a lot of work, and when you are done, the protective anodized finish is gone. Also, it is then a matter of continual polishing to keep up the shine.

Please help. I have found a 1972 Continental Silver Streak. I really like the looks of it- they are asking $4700. Would it be worth that? It appears to be in good condition. I am just concerned about being able to resale if we ever decide we are tired of it- We are near retirement and would like it for fun and recreation to use traveling and camping with the grandkids - but don't want problems. What is it worth if in good shape?

Also my husband wants to know how to clean the outside.

Hello Tom and all others,

It was great to finally meet you at the Newport Dunes rally....thanks for posting pics of our Streamline on your board. I found a product on the web which got me curious. It said that it would clean aluminum. I called the guy and he arranged to give me a free sample to try out on our rig. Seeing as how he's located in Gilroy, CA (20 min away from where I'm at) I went up there in person to get it. I'll be darned if it didn't get the yellowing out of the anodization. Folks, I'm in the military, and I'm the type of person who believes it when I see it. I'm not a spokesman for this product, but I'm pretty happy with the results from the sample...so much so that I'm taking the trailer up there this Thursday, so he can clean the whole trailer. Take a look at his website and decide for yourselves. You really have nothing to lose. http://www.metalwax.com Let me know how it works out for you all.

Frederic

Hi Frederic,

How about posting some before and after pictures of your trailer on this board. I know lots of folks would be interested in this product if it works out for you.

By Frederic Lynes on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 - 11:19 pm:

Tom,

I'd be glad to post some pics. I'm taking the trailer up tomorrow morning....I still have some pics of it, when I was selling it on Ebay. The owner of Metalwax, Austin, will start work on it Saturday and should be finished with it by Tuesday. I take some pics of it then and post them....by the way, how do you post? Sorry, I'm one of those convinced that computers are the downfall of human civilization as we know it....still, they do have a good use, like this board.

Frederic,

The instructions are in the "Documentation" on the left panel on your screen. Look under "Formatting", and then see "Images, Attachments, and Clipart" under "Other Formatting". The instructions show an example.

By Tom Patterson on Saturday, January 01, 2005 - 09:24 am:

You don't need to become a member to post messages on the message board, as you have noticed I am sure. There is also an e-mail list, although not real active. You do have to sign up for the list in order to post messages. To do this, go to: /Silverstreak/List/listoffice.html

Does anyone have the part of manufacturers manual that refers to emergency exits for a 76 [or so] Silver Streak? I am referring to something I read about the windows being designed to be kicked out from the inside. I can't remember which windows and am trying to complete my info packet for the trailor. Please e-mail me at frozen2@alaska.net I'd be more than happy to pay for copies and postage. Thanks a bunch.

I just attempted to have a 1976 Silver streak repaired at an RV shop. The sink leaks and new hinges are needed for the door. Some of the lights need repaired, otherwise it's condition is excellent. I am not a mechanic and I desire to have it repaired in the next two weeks. The company gave me a price of $5000+. Which is a little high for my blood. I am in the Bakersfield, California area. Any suggestions on where I might get a better repair price or parts for repair?

Depends how bad of course. I had the hinges on my '65 Streamline chromed and they look pretty good now.

hello, I am in san francisco area with a most special 28 ft continental rocket 73 silverstreak for sale . I spent 4 months building an all birch and vg fir trimmed interior, including reconfiguring the interior . The bathtub is left, but in place of the too big back bathroom area is a bed facing front to back, set up for two people. The areas forward are set up well . the cabinets and all the trim are in vg fir , all waterbased varnished so to not yellow. THe fastenings for all the trim are ss screws. the floor is pergo. If you want the well built structure of the silverstreak, but hate the ugly stock interiors of these, and can appreciate the craftsmanship of an all birch interior, then you may really like this. The layout is warm, natural, and beautiful . I am asking 15k, bo. please call me ,rather than emailing. 415 713 6876 I am happy to discuss any aspect of this trailer. Sincerely Tim Blair in sonoma county

Hello,
6 Month's ago I drove 18hours from central Texas to Central Arizona to pick up a 1976 SS Supreme Luxury Liner I found on-line. I have repaired what minor issues it had but I am short a few details. Not sure if anyone is receiving responses to the request for a manual for this model but if so I would greatly appreciate a copy. My e-mail address is danny.avalos@cmc.com

Danny,

You need to sign up for the Silver Streak e-mail list on this web site. There is a lot more activity, and maybe someone will answer your request.

My son has a 1978 Silver Streak. I was wondering why was the door made to open in the wind when you are towing it? My son has to use a bungy cord to keep it from flying open while traveling. Can it be adjusted or what?

By Danny Avalos on Saturday, May 10, 2008 - 11:16 am:

Joyce,
I had a friend on his way to my house with his silver streak ready to take it to the deer lease when his door flew off because he forgot to lock it. $1000 dollars later he got the door replace. What ever you have to do do not let it fly open. Can he not lock the door if the latch is not catching for the door handle he may need to replace the springs in it which appear to be a commone wear item.

Danny,
My son uses a bungie cord to keep it from flying open. I haven't asked him about locking the door, but I will.
Thanks,
