I have an RM 100 fridge in my 77 SS. It is quite old and is probably original equipment. One of the problems I experienced with it is the lack of reflection of the flame when attempting to light the fridge on gas or checking to make sure the flame is on. I cleaned both ends of the prism rod and that helped a little but I also stole a 3" square mirror from one of my wifes compacts and glued it to the inside of the gas unit cover and also wrapped the cover in aluminum foil. The mirror definately makes a difference in my ability to see the flame. If any of you have the same problem you might want to try this.

Wow. my fridge is a 1972 Dometic (when they were
made well) It is still going on gas and electric. As a matter of fact, I leave it on
about 2 all of the time and the freezer stays
at 0 to 10 degrees and the fridge stays at 34
degrees.
