Hey everyone.
I just bought a SS 24' 1968 off ebay.
Here is the auction with pics.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4564278140&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Not picking her up until end of sept though.
My only point of reference is in Airstream Layouts. Is this the original layout with the two front gauchos?Does only one fold out? I am thinking of changing the rear facing gaucho to a two seater dinette. Any advice? What is my model Name? Did SS make a 24 footer in 1968? or is it a 23'sabre? ALso, (Now I know this is probably sacredlidge here)I would like to change my stripe to a different color to match my tow vehicle whats the best options for doing that?

Thanks in advance.... True

Take a look at the brochure for the 1965 23 Saber self contained gaucho on this site.(layout in the center) The entry door looks setback to the middle like yours.

Did you pick up your 24' Silver Streak? It sounds as though you have a "fixer up". This web site seems to be the best one on the net when it comes to Silver Streak or Streamline trailers. As of October 2, I am also a new owner of a Silver Streak. I have a 1972 SS 26" Contientenal "Apollo". Fortunately I don't need to do much to it to get it ready for travel. The previous owner kept it in excellent condition and had replaced several of the major systems.

There does not seem to be much activity on the board, but the threads are left up for many years, and I have found a lot of great information dating back to 2000 and 2001.

Be sure to download the manuals and information that is on this site. I have found the information contained in the manuals a great help.

Another good source of general info about the subsystems can be found at phrannie.org

Dear True-Yes I agree it would be sacraligiouse to change the stripe colour. I almost feel like we don't own our trailers we are just the caretakers of them for a short while. Better to change the color of your tow rig. Just imagine how cool it would be to drive a Gold truck. And what a nod to a great trailer!

PS My 64? Streak does not have a stripe. Was it removed?, Never had it?
