I've attached some pics of the remodeling We did on our 77 SS. We moved the couch to the road side of the trailer and re-upholstered it. built in a front console using the original table and providing a space for our TV. The TV normally sets on the curb side of the console but its not installed at the time of the pics. Our couch was a standard flex-steel couch available thru Camping World. I added a pull out drawer underneath as the space was wasted otherwise. We also recarpeted, replaced mirrors, wallpapered, etc. I've also included two pics of the exterior of the trailer taken on the continental divide in British Columbia proving these old gems can still roll!

I should also mention that when I got my SS there was absolutely no gold/brass on it at all. I used Krylon Brass spray paint on it and I think it looks pretty original now.

Carl...Great job on the rennovation. Your front area looks like my Streamline with the exception of the corner windows. I have my couch on that side as well because it allows for the best viewing when camped at scenic locations. Is that a 28 foot model?

By Carl Rodgers on Friday, April 28, 2000 - 04:46 pm:

Yes, it is a model 2800 which is actually 29' 11" long. Don't ask me why! Thanks, were real happy with our layout now. Just came back from a very rainy week on the Oregon coast but we were snug as bugs in a rug. Saw a couple of Streamlines on the trip. but didn't get a chance to talk to the owners. Carl

CARL: Your rig looks great, just purchased one that is identical on the outer ,our gold trim is factory and not faded very much.Started to remodel the inside going to add birch paneling to try and brighten up the interior.found a damp spot near the doorand wall, yup floor rotted but won't be a problem. Biggest problem is a faulty gas valve.Paid 3k for it from a lady friend who said her dad had it prior to 1980.Realy enthused with this rig and should be able to sell our 25ft Aljo within a couple yrs.Our rig is a mod-28 continental supreme not sure of the yr havn't received the title yet, appears to have the original chrome rims.GOOD LUCK,HAPPY ROADS We're full timers wintering in TX at our little hide a-way.

Good day to you all... I am the happy new owner of a '77 2800 as well. In pretty good condition but plan on restoring as much as possible. Great job on this project Carl. Does help to visualize possiblities. I am a furniture builder now but in 77 was forman at an RV factory in British Columbia. Hope to hear from other enthusiastic SS owners. I am very excited.

Howdy from Colorado,

I also just purchased a 1977 SS Saturn Supreme. It's 28 feet and in excellent condition. Looks pretty much exactly like the fine looking example in the pictures above.

I paid $3300 for the trailer. I thought it was a great price, as I had been trying to buy an Airstream of similar vintage and size. The Airstreams were considerably more expensive and not well-built in my opinion.

Happy trailering! See you guys on the road.

What are the pros and cons of sealing the side vents (weep holes) on my 71 Silver Streak?

Where can I get glass windows for my 1974, 28'
silver streak?
Anyone know
Thanks Jeff

By Ralph Cooke on Friday, March 09, 2007 - 11:29 pm:

Jeff,
Suggest you start a new thread with that request. Fortunately my 1972 26' has good windows, but I would be interested in knowing how to repalce them if required. I was thinking of using LEXAN for the curved windows if it ever comes to replacement.

Regards,

Ralph
