I had the pleasure of visiting with Bob Ashby
while on vacation in April. As many of you may know from visiting this site, Bob is an authority on original Silver Streak production and re-furbishing. He had refurbished nearly 130 Silver Streaks over time.

He shared some information with me regarding a color for the hot water heater cover as many of us have realized, anodized covers are hard to come by if we replace our tanks and the original covers do not fit. Use Krylon 1403 (dull aluminum) and this is the closest match to Anodized aluminum on a Silver Streak. White painted or cream colored lids just do not work on an anodized trailer!
