Hi,
I just purchase a 1972 28ft Silver Streak. It has the words Deluxe Rocket and Continental on the exterior. I am delighted the trailer. It's a real rolling palace. When I picked up the trailer the guy I bought it from showed me the fridge inside (which works well). Later, after leaving him, I went down the road to find a gas station. I decided to check inside and I found the lower door to the fridge wide open. The plastic travel latch that holds the door closed was broken. No RV place I've been to seems to have one. I'd rather not make something to keep the door closed. It's a Dometic 2 door fridge. The upper door is kept closed with a metal pin while traveling but the lower door requires this plastic latch. Please anyone if you can help let me know. I just put a heavy box in front of the door for the 436 mile drive home. Thanks,
Chris

Try Camping world or almost any good RV parts store. Latches are sold that work better than the original, or if you can find a place that services or rebuilds old dometics I'm sure they would have one. If you can't find one we have an outfit that rebuilds old fridges up here. Carl Rodgers

Thanks, Carl,
Boy I really like this trailer. I've so much fun already and I've only had it a few days. We have a Camping World about 40 miles from here. I did try a local good RV store but they didn't have anything that fit. I have a friend who is very clever at improvising things and he may be able to devise a new one for me out of some metal. I can't believe the room and storage in this thing. It has the fun green rounded windows at the front and even has its own built in vacuum cleaner. I want to get some pictures of it to post. Chris
