Hi
Can any one tell me the diff if any on the 1975 Silver Streak, all the messages posted talk about every year except the 75 I am considering buying that year. I had always thought I would like a older model of the Airstream but this is such a good deal that I am considering buying this model, please some info would be nice.
Thank You Lorrie.

Hi Lori,

I have had a 1975 Silver Streak for three years. I too was in the market for an Airstream, but was open to a SS. I have been very happy with the quality of my trailer. Everyone comments on the great interior and nice big bathroom.

SS made some major changes to their trailers around 72-73 so in 1975 there were just minor trim changes etc. If you purchase the trailer make sure that you have the brakes checked and that the bearings are packed to be safe.

Good Luck!

Perry N. Thank You,
Well we purchased a 1975 SS Supream, not sure what the supream means but it was a great buy at 2,000 fully equipped and almost all original. The past owner replaced the living room sofa with a loveseat, what should have originaly been there? The dining room table folds out across with 2 extra leaves so its long, what ever should have been there would have to sit high enough to sit and eat. I would appreciate some info on this as my husband can build whatever should be there (a extra bed maybe?) Its 28' with the rear bathroom and twin beds ( very 70s looking) Im kinda thinking of doing a retro 70s Tiki look. Shag rug bamboo shades etc. We will be pulling it to Minnisota and back on vacation cant wait, any info you have would be great.
Thank You,
Lorrie

Just a quick note...........

Originally it had a small sofa-bed that was a hide-a-bed, either short or long depending on your end table set-up (check out the brochure section of this site, or pictures from posters) I have interiors/exteriors posted on my website if you are interested as well...........)

The table had two wooden fold up (bridge table) chairs, eating from sofa was probably not done
We have only used the leaves twice. Also, have replaced the sofa bed, (ghastly thing and very uncomfortable) we found after much searching: two sectional recliners, with no arms (from middle of a new lazy boy type sectional, we ordered two of the armless center ones only) From Levitts Furniture....perfect!

Good Luck and enjoy........we have been traveling in ours for over a year now........about 3000 miles so far
We have a 1977 34 footer,

Sedona Silver Streaker............

To answer your questions about the table and sofa
I have a complete 1973 Continental Atlas w/rear bath and twin beds. The sofa's are about 4 ft in length and set fine at the table. These are real sofa's with real padding not the cheap foam they use today and spring coil construction and you can fold them down to make a twin size bed for sleeping. They also have storage under the seats you can get to by lifting the seat cushion. I enjoy the extra storage myself. I have seen the 35 foot Supreme and it had the sofa hide-a-bed but yours is a 28 ft. which is closer to my 26 ft.

I used to be in the Airwing in the Marines and we did anodize critical parts on aircraft. If the parts were small enough they had a deep sink w/an electro magnet looking thing and a solution consistant to water. When the parts dryed they were golden in color. This process is still available to anyone but I'm not sure if you can reanodize parts or what is needed to accomplish this procedure. Good Luck

Anodized finish or Brightly polish
The way i tell the difference is if you can part your hair then its bright, if not then its anodized. I have heard through the rumor mill that some rv parks years ago complained about the bright glare that you see on most airstreams. This maybe one of the reasons that SS went to anodized finishes but myself I like both better then the fiberglass units and I don't have to worry about delamination...but I do have to run for cover in a hail storm :)

Having had both shiny finish(airstream ) trailers and anodized finish (silverstreak) trailers, give me the anodized anytime. Their is nothing that looks worse than the clear coat flaking off an Airstream and they all do eventually.

I am looking at a '76, always wanted an airstream but this one is going for 3,000.00. Haven't seen it yet but they say it is in good condition. Is that a good price????
