Gosh Eddie - and you wanted me to do "how to" pics of my install. We dont need no stinking pictures. If a person cannot follow these instructions they probably should not be trying in the first place. I am sure that even with my relatively mechanical ability that you have saved me from some grievous error that would require me to invent curse words to do justice to how p_$$ed off I was for screwing it up.

Absolutely fabulous!!

Thanks for your time and talent.

John

Eddie, well done. Absolutely brilliant execution. Even the East-German judge gave you a 10.0

Eddie,

I received the hinges today, great shipping time, overnight to near Galveston. I guess I am bias being Postmaster for 29 years but Postal Service is still the greatest!!!! The hinges are great and installation material should make job nice instead of having to "look" and find stuff to install.

Thanks so much for your efforts as I have been concerned for years about my hinges even though my old ones are in great shape. I will post photos when I get them installed.

Thanks again.

Installation was pretty easy. I had 3 rivets that wanted to spin and not drill out, but that was overcome. My pop rivet tool gave up the ghost on the 2nd rivet. it was only a cheap and one 35 years old...piece of junk. All together it took me about 3 hours to do them with the 1st one taking longer.

I do not know what that tape was designed for, but man that is some sticky stuff. It is all over my knife... sure hope that some acetone will remove it.

Many thanks for all of the work Eddie.

If anyone is interested, I have a perfectly good set of original 1979 cast hinges that will go cheap. They show no signs of cracking.

Re: NEW HINGE INSTALLATION AND KIT

Eddies instructions were a piece of cake. I had my hinges bead-blasted and then sprayed with clear enamel. I think they look better than the stock hinges and no failures! Eddie, your efforts on this project went above and beyond. Thanks to you one major flaw in the coach design has now been resolved. I encourage everybody to take the time to do this retrofit. It is not at all difficult and will keep these beauties on the road.
