You can't make electricity cheaper with a propane generator than you can buy 
it for sure.
My main use of it is "off-the-grid", I use larger propane tanks (somewhat 
cheaper) the
generator drives a large fast battery charger and maintains a battery bank, 
an inverter provides
AC power all the time. My "summer palace" at 8400ft does not need air 
conditioning. This provides
power 24/7 by running the generator 5-8 hours a day.
