[A/S] onan propane genset - was 'Yamaha Generator'
#1 - the rv *is* the vehicle - a 1979 dodge b-van i've been using as a
'test-bed' for systems planned for the 1948 Airstream 'Trailwind'
restoration/renovation. The Trailwind Project has been stalled for awhile,
but with a little luck will get going again this summer.
The recent thread on 'NidaCore' solved the problem of a lightweight flooring
material i've been searching for, for years... until now, i'd been trying to
find a source for a similar product used in commercial aircraft
construction.
#2 - the sound-proof box and the generator live inside the rv - built into
one of the seating area boxes. The box is lined with regular heat-shield and
sound-proofing engine-compartment insulation available from just about any
auto parts supplier - in this case, i think it was from JC Whitney.
In the proposed layout for the Trailwind, the cafe-style seating/sleeping
area in the forward part of the trailer will contain the genset in one side,
and the coleman air-conditioner in the other, both sound-proofed, and vented
through the belly-pan of the trailer.
other interesting systems planned for the Trailwind Project:
