In response to Jack Bird's post, a word of warning.  Aluminum does not
change color with temperature like steel does.  Aluminum melts at 1220
deg. F.  If heated with an acetylene torch, you first notice slight
softening of an edge if you are heating near the edge.  A second or
two later, the piece liquifies and collapses.  It takes a very skilled
and experienced workman to weld aluminum.  An inexperienced person
trying to remove dents with a torch will more than likely wind up with
a hole in their trailer.
