The Yamaha's are very quiet...just like the Honda's.

We had a Yamaha EF3000iSE (the one without the boost), and it was quieter 
than the Honda EU1000i we had previously (53/59 dBA for the Honda EU1000i, 
51/57 dBA for the Yamaha EF3000iSE).

And, it ran our 13,500 BTU A/C just fine without the boost.
