Cost is not a factor as much as the insurer being convinced of the economics
of repair. This kind of loss is covered by your insurance policy on your
trailer under the comprehensive or all perils coverage. 
The insurer will compare the actual cash value less the value of the salvage
against the cost of repair. Which ever is less, is the route they naturally
will go.
