Hi Steve,

I almost never go more than 100 miles on travel days.  Sometimes less. My 
shortest day was 8 miles.

I leave the campground at about 10:00am and I'm pulling into my next one at 
noon or a little after.  One benefit of that is I rarely bother to make 
reservations.  I like being able to stay longer, leave earlier or vary my course 
depending on what I might learn while someplace. If it's raining I almost never 
tow unless I have to.

Getting in early means I have the afternoon to sightsee, do laundry, go 
antiquing, explore with the dogs...whatever.

I get my money's worth too <g>  I spend 22 hours in a campground. 

I prefer to spend more than one night but if I need to be somewhere I do one 
night stands, so to speak <g>, and still do the 100 mile days.

It started because I hate driving and my cats were in the trailer and my dogs 
don't want to spend hours in the truck. It's more relaxing and it makes 
travel much more pleasant.

I get to see alot more too.... instead of the country being a blur outside my 
truck windows I'm actually seeing it up close and personal.
