You have a closet on the street side?  Twin beds maybe?

I have lived in mine for over 6 years, excepting a few months, and have never
turned off my battery switch.  I still have the batteries I bought 6.5 years
ago. Why would you turn it off?  To answer your question, yes... the emergency
brake runs off the battery.

I only turn the gas on when I know I'm going to want hot water, for a shower
in the morning. To wash dishes at night.

I also got an electric HWH called a Hott Rod.  I use it when I'm on 30 amp
service.

Because those are the two places you will think that you want to turn on the
hot water. I suspect they put it in one place or the other long ago, and
people complained so they now have it in both places.

From Magic Chef?  Did you get an owner's manual with the trailer?  There
should be a Magic Chef use and installtion pamphlet in there.
