We live in the SF Bay Area (1 block from the bay), my daughter in Napa, CA. 
This storm was more intense and had more rain that fell must faster than 
expected.  That, along with the high tides caused the havoc (the rivers 
could not flow to the bay cause the tide was coming in).  I did not see the 
newscast with the Airstream, but think it might have been in the Russian 
River area where alot of people vacation and retire.  Tonight everyone is 
still waiting and watching.  Areas that have not typically been flooded - 
were.  Areas that typically are - weren't.  The wonders of Mother Nature - 
yesterday morning she made a believer out of me with the winds, tides and 
rain...we had to take a drive just to see the amazement of it all.  Another 
couple of inches and it would have been over several sea walls in our area.
