  Robert, I felt the same way, at first, however after 'full-timing' I see the need for the 
dinette.  I greatly expands the 'galley' when one does feel like cooking a full meal and 
it's a perfect spot for my laptop.  I had a custom teak wood table made (to match the 
magazine racks) and it adds a 'focal point' to the entrance.  I too am not crazy about the 
cushion in the dinette seat, however I plan to replace them with something less cushy.  I 
plan to also use a higher quality fabric and give it a tuffted look.  But I do love the Teak 
table.
