My 23' Safari takes about 10 hours a year to go over it with the cyclo
polisher.  Probably another 3 hours to wash and wax it.

So it's not too bad as long as you keep up with it.  It could take longer if
you're a perfectionist!

As far as the cover, it should not be a tarp type cover as any dirt and
debris will cause scratches when trapped under the cover. 

An actual carport type of structure is the way to go.
