RE: [A/S] Diesel parts and Warranty problems??

I think somebody's confused.  I just did some surfing and Googling and found
NOTHING about a GM Isuzu split.  GM recently sold their interest in Fuji
Heavy Industries, which includes Subaru, and decreased their interest in
Isuzu from nearly 40% to 10%.  But they still have 10% ownership of Isuzu
and apparently continue to work closely with Isuzu developing new diesel
engines.

The DuraMax 6600 Turbo diesel for Chevy and GMC pickups is assembled in Ohio
and apparently they've made a slightly new more powerful version for the
2006 model year.

My 2004 GMC Sierra DuraMax now has 37,000 miles on it.  The only engine part
I've needed so far was a software update about two months ago to correct
intermittent rough idling.

Check with your source on the rumor.  I suspect that either they confused
Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru) with Isuzu, or are trying to steer you to
Ford or Dodge.
