[A/S] Photovoltaic Films our Solar future???

Has anyone read anything more than what is on page 77 of the Nov issue of
PopMech about photovoltaic film?   I am really excited about this as apparently
you can paint this stuff on your roof or awning .. ok, AND awnings, etc and it
is "as thin as photographic film"  (you all remember film? cameras used film?
ok forget it.)   Anyway, really thin and flexible and Alan Heeger (2000 Nobel
for Chemistry) says that you can use any color, make clothes with it, yada.  if
it is as efficient as the silicon boards now used, we could just about start
worrying about better storage units and quit plugging into the grid.  really
make ourselves independent.

We certainly live in interesting times.  hope we live long enough to see some of
the "miracles" happen ...  (remember how the Maori in NZ worshipped the airplane
when they saw one back in WWII days??  a miracle is unexplained phenomena
according to some "scientists"<G>)
