Back in MA, I was very careful about winterizing the water systems, 
blowing out all the lines, emptying the hot water tank and draining the 
pump. I put RV antifreeze in all the traps and the toilet.  I also put 
mouse poison around.  I didn't find that snow was a problem.  I also 
just left the battery in  place, it is an Ulitima yellow top, it didn't 
care about the cold and because I have NO ghost loads of electricity, it 
was fine,

I don't think jacking up the trailer is a good idea, mostly because 
there are only two spots where you can jack it up, don't use the axles 
!!  If your tires go flat then you need to replace them anyway. Tires 
that are old and leaky may do bad things on the highway.  You can 
protect them from the sun if you want, that will help. but they should 
be replaced if more than 4 years old, no matter how much tread is left.  
I never covered them, tires didn't care.

Putting an Airstream in a garage is like plastic wrapping a banana, your 
trailer is designed to be out in all kinds of weather. Of course, that 
means you have fixed the leaks, never an easy task, but the first job 
you should attend to.
