Mine hung on a strap from the ceiling.  When you unhooked the strap you could 
fold the top bunk down and it turned into a back rest making the bottom beds 
couches that faced each other.

Just an update........we are meeting the current owner on Friday and
we are bringing our checkbook!!!!  Keep your fingers crossed for us
please.......I am sooooooo excited!!! :)>

Be careful, many on this list suffer from a disease called aluminitis..... it 
doesn't appear to be curable and causes some to buy multiple Airstreams.
