I had the little bolt that holds the door open while you're underway on the 
bathroom door, break. I went to the hardware and bought a simple bolt and 
filed it, threaded and generally fiddled with it until I got it to do the 
same thing the original did.
I was wondering if you could do the same thing with a bolt of the same 
diameter and thread count.
A cut off wheel is a grand tool!
