Sounds like the simple old snap mouse trap is the best and safest way 
to go.

Had a few meeces in there last year.  Wouldn't have known it if not 
for spotting their droppings while doing some off-season repais last 
winter.  Three traps baited with peanut butter and placed in 
strategic locations finished them off in no time.

I think I have sealed the opening where they got in, but only winter 
will tell.  The real trouble may have been a granola bar that was 
abandoned in the back of a cabinet, acting as incentive to get 
inside.  I may put a few traps out this winter while the trailer is 
not in use, just in case.

I'll also add that when I installed my under floor spare tire carrier 
and removed part of the belly skin, there was a dead mouse tucked in 
all cozy in the insulation.
