Steve, I think the work required to convert an air
conditioner that has its controls onboard are a lot
more detailed.  I remember a post somewhere that
someone made to allow a airconditioner with onboard
controls to be operated from a remote thermostat. 
I'll have to look and see where these are.  I was all
gung ho to do this to my Safari until I saw the
requirements.  

If I remember correctly that post would also allow the
fan to cycle on and off when the compressor is not
needed.  I find running like this is vastly superior
to the continious fan operation that will reintroduce
humidity into the air when the set point is reached
and the compressor cycles off.
