Re: [A/S] What caulk to use for a 1979 shower stall? Caulking Caveat
Oliver is right as usual.
In my endlessly leaky '73 center bath shower, I got tired of
it and drilled out all the rivets holding the pan to the
wall. At least that's what I started to do. I quickly found
they were mostly broken. I used a clear caulk that says it
will stick to anything, but more important, I opened up the
joint wide enough to stuff a lot of caulk in there, and then
I put the rivets on again, and cleaned off the squished out
stuff. 2,000 miles later, still OK. I did the same thing
to the curved joints on the wall. So far, I dont think the
metal slot connection leaks.
We would know this if our houses bumped and crashed around
the way our trailers do.
