Jim,
I have a Duotherm Penguin on my Sovereign, but I have not considered adding
a generator to my Airstream. I believe the Penguin runs on 15 amps, but the
starting surge is about three times that amount momentarily to get the
compressor up to speed. Smaller generators may shut down before the
compressor comes up to speed whereas commercial power circuit breakers are
more forgiving. 

The group had a similar discussion in March. The consensus was you will need
a minimum of 3KW. The group did not recommend one of the cheap Colemans or
Generacs because they are noisy and the power is not filtered very well. The
best solutions were two Honda EU2000s hooked in parallel because they are
light enough to lift and move or a Honda EU4000.
