[A/S] Another towing question? Omigod

I know, I know, you're sick of the topic. But indulge me. One
more, for the road, so to speak.

I recently bought a 1975 29' A/S and had it delivered to a property
where I'll live in it once in a while. I may want to move it
occasionally (but not go touring, like a lot of you), and am thinking
about buying a used, inexpensive tow vehicle.

(Of course, my other option is to always hire it moved, but I'd like
not to address that issue in this thread.)

Now, I've heard everything you cats have had to say about 'bigger is
better' and 'size matters' (and I honor those knowledgeable posts) but
I'd like to come at this question through another door; to wit: if I
plan to tow only in relatively good weather (i.e., absent winds) and
avoid mountain passes and speedy freeways, and generally avoid distances
longer than 100 miles, and want to spend perhaps a max of $2,000, what
should I look for in a tow vehicle? A 1/2 ton pickup? A 3/4 ton pickup?
(are those categories out-of-date?) Other? (bigger than a golf cart,
but smaller than a Mack truck?)
