Re: [A/S] Front-mounted hitches

this will not be a problem unless environment requires running the jack up.
also, you are very unlikely to bend the jack post. you are going to more likely
trash the "V plates" on the top/bottom thru which the jack post runs and the
jack is mounted on.

anyway, all you want to do is to take weight off the front hitch, maybe 500lbs
worth. you do not have to jack it high to do that. again, remember the basic
rule of maneuvering a forklift with a load. get it LOW, it reduces the torque
and just might keep that counterweight off your back (ouch!).

the same rule applies, just run it up enough to get the bottom of the hitch off
the ground. consider keeping someone (YOU!) on the hitch switch and let SWMBO
do the driving. she needs to learn how to do it anyway.

as you clear dips as in curb-gutter-ditches, then lower the hitch using a
clenched fist to tell HER to step on the brake. then open your hand to tell her
to get off teh brake and then start watching teh back of the trailer.

again, keep the tongue low, and keep the motion SLOW!!!
