I just sold my Crown Vic after 5 years. It had a very high rear end
gear ratio, produced about 40 mph per 1,000 rpm in OD (4th gear).
Mine had the new 4.7 litre ohc V8 with max torque at about 4,000 rpm.
I think you will need a new rear end gear with the right ratio for
towing a heavy trailer, maybe 3.73 or even 4.11.
Might be cheaper to trade it in for a truck.
