[A/S] grey water tank - mini
Hey Steve,
Two other points. After finding the PVC pipe cracked when I went to use
it the first time at a rest area, I realized there was insufficient
flexibility between the blackwater outlet and the street side frame
hole. In my attempt to build everything tight and strong, I created too
much rigidity.
I cut the PVC pipe in the middle and discarded 6" from the middle
thereby creating two shorter sections where there had been one long
section. I then inserted a 6" long rubber hose/tube (3" diameter
stretched) between the two sections to maintain the same length as when
there was one piece of PVC pipe. Next, I secured each rubber end to
both pieces of PVC pipe with two hose clamps. That settled that hash.
Even after several cross continent round trips, there have been no
cracks.
A later modification was to add a couple feet of strap aluminum wrapped
around the PVC pipe and connected to metal near the blackwater outlet
(where I could reach). This little addition secured the blackwater
connection so it can't jiggle open and dump the grey water inside the
hose carrier area. Enough said. <grin>
These two minor refinements did the trick. The final solution was no
different than what fathers in all countries teach their sons:
attention to detail, organization and planning, thought before action.
Persistence pays.
