RE: [A/S] Urethane Foam Insulation other thoughts Toxicity

Formaldehyde is nasty stuff, especially in a confined space.

However, the problem of formaldehyde being released from urethane foam has
to do with the catalyzation chemistry (or lack therof).

If the proper ratio of resin to catalyst is maintained during application,
the foam will cure and essentially all of the formaldehyde will be released
during the first couple of days.

This is why the material must be applied by a knowledgeable installer with
the proper equipment.
