Last year when my '76 25ft Caravanner was stolen from me my insurance
carrier did not want to pay the full amount of coverage that I had on the
trailer. I used the net and bombarded them with information on what older
good condition Airstreams are selling for. The negotiation went on for
almost six months but they did finally pay the full amount of my coverage.
They cannot use any NADA guides or information on trailers older than 89-90
now so if you are very proactive in finding repair costs and current trailer
values and are skilled at negotiating without alienating them you should be
ok, but it will take time. If they insist on junking it you may be able to
collect and purchase it from them at junk value, there is an interesting
story  at SilverAvion about a wrecked trailer that the owner did exactly

just say from experience that if you are "easy" and just roll over the
carrier will be very pleased and if you put a lot effort into the settlement
you will be surprised at how wide a range of settlement possibilities they
have when pressed.
