I talked to my mom some after looking at the pictures and think I may 
have something that will help find the model they had.  It had two 
doors, this page

mentions that those were rare.  She said they bought it used in the 
60's, so it was probably a 50's model. It had the pale woodwork-I'm 
guessing birch, center bath in the pale pink, and had a full size 
holywood bed in the back when they bought it.  In looking at the 
pictures of the 33' custom

this looks more like it's profile from the outside, but with two doors. 

I wish we still had it, I loved that thing-it was my dream of the 
perfect Airstream. 
Anyone have any ideas of other places to look,
