RE: [A/S] Airstream, PHD/ Honda genset
Dan,
Until you actually hear one (or 2) of the Honda EU2000s running, you can't
imagine how much quieter they are than the competition. My first encounter
was at a rally and there was a shortage of 120V, so a couple of nearby
neighbors (both of whom had EU2000S), paralleled the two and plugged their
two rigs into them. We were no more than 15ft from the gensets and I did
not even know that they were running until I walked over to talk and could
barely hear the faint running. The two were so quiet that a whisper could
be heard above them. Truly amazing. Being able to run one or two EU2000s
based on whether you need the AC or not (two EU2000s WILL start and run a
13,500BTU AC) is an advantage. The EU2000s are light enough for the ladies
to handle and easy to start. The only drawback I see is that Honda does not
provide for a remote starting capability on the EU2000 while such IS
available for the EU3000. But for all around versatility, the 2 EU2000s are
the winner in my book. They are the next big ticket purchase for our rig.
