I have the Honda 1,000.  Instead of getting a 3,000 you would be better 
buying two 2,000s.  Then you can run them apart or together in parallel giving you 
4,000. The 3,000 is too heavy to pick up by yourself.... you can move the 
1,000 and 2,000.

The Coleman is cheaper but it makes too much noise.  Not only will everyone 
around you hate you, but you'll hate it yourself.  

If you just want to keep the batteries charged and run some things the Honda 
is fine. It will not run the a/c or the microwave though.
