FWIW -- for the last couple of years we have used bottled water exclusively for 
drinking, and for washing dishes.  For all other purposes, we use the water from 
our tank.  Why?  Even though local water may be "safe", when your system is not 
used to the local wildlife and minerals one may end up with digestive distress.  
For us, bottled water is simple, easy, and effective -- and I am very lazy.
