RE: [A/S] Zip Dee

Don,
Yes, I disconnect both arms. The ground connection I came up with is
simplicity itself. I simply purchased some 1.5" aluminum "angle iron" (Home
Depot). I drilled a hole on each side of the angle iron. One, the size of
the round stake. The other the size of the pin used to secure the arm to
the bracket on the trailer. In my case, the two holes are slightly
different in size. I use two of these per arm (one on either side of each
arm). By using the same pin for both the trailer bracket and the ground
attachment, keeps things simple. I have found that you always need to carry
a small sledge hammer as driving the stakes into the ground can be a
challenge at many campgrounds and RV parks.

As for the pin, use one that locks over the bracket with a bail as that is
the most secure. Be sure that the pin is exactly the same size as the bolt
that was removed so as to prevent wobble during travel from wallowing out
the aluminum.
