RE: [A/S] Zip Dee

Don,
As already posted, there are special snaps that ZipDee provides. They have
a hook at the top so the screen can not be accidentally pulled off (you have
to lift up then out). The screen works really well in blocking direct sun
as well as providing a bit more privacy. It does have a drawback. When
installed, the awning rail and the screen make access to/from the
trailer/awning area more challenging. This is sufficient enough of a hassle,
that I changed out the bolt where the awning rail attaches to the trailer
bottom and replaced it with a removable pin. This way, I can remove the
pin, swing the arms down and attach them to a plate I made that is held to
the ground with stakes. This really opens up the awning area. I tend to do
this even when the sunscreen is not used as it makes access to the awning
area and the main door much better. It also spreads the load of the awning
during wind to the ground rather than totally to the trailer. It does make
closing up the awning a bit more involved (ie I have to place the awning
arms back into the brackets at the bottom of the A/S).
