[A/S] Ford Powerstrokes....

just looked at very very nice '99 F-250 XLT SuperCab Powerstroke, 18grand, 
112,000 miles
I'd been looking at '03's and later for the TorqueShift 5speed, as many 
people have had there 4speed automatic fail at about 100,000,,,,,as Hunter did
Salesmen said, don't tow in OD........I thought that was true for early/mid 
90's tow vehicles.
Would there be a MPG differance, ie 4sp no O/D, TorqeShift, in Haul mode.
Should I buy it? it's perfect looking rust free, one owner. I'll spend about 
11grand extra to buy '03/'04   with TorqueShift and/or 6.0L
I'm just concerned about the near future maitainance..............
