That's like saying, "The sun comes up in the morning."  The Silverado is
about due for a "serious" redesign.

Aw, Patti...  You need to take all this "information" with several, LARGE
grains of salt.

You might be safer staying home in bed but then your risk of heart disease
and being struck by lightning increase.

Comparatively speaking, a full-size pickup of ANY brand is MUCH "safer" than
most other vehicles on the road in a one-on-one collision.

Wearing properly adjusted seat and shoulder belts will increase your
survivability in all but the most extreme collisions.

I think you'll find that most of the full-size vehicle crash injuries (test
failures, if you will) are from SIDE impact collisions where the driver or
passenger's head strikes the side window or door jamb.

Side curtain air bags appear to be the cure for this unfortunate fact.

Don't worry about it.  You (we) bought a GREAT truck and I have NO regrets.
