I have used two different rear-view wired TV monitor systems since about 
'96. First one looked out the rear window of the trailer. Present one is a 
Remington brand two-camera / 5 inch BW monitor bought a few years ago at 
Sam's Club for around $80 total, including two 50 foot cables for the 
cameras. It all runs from 12V. Works well, but only useful during backing. 
As long as my wife is back there to help me park, I probably don't actually 
need it. BUT - in that rare traffic backup situation, it is worth its 
weight in gold. I made a weatherproof case for it and mounted it ON the 
rear trailer window. Had to makeup extension cables to go into the truck to 
allow the connection to be made at the hitch.

I mounted the second camera high in the cap of my truck so it looks down 
and out through the rear cap window. Very helpful there when backing into a 
parking space, etc. It is used when not towing the trailer.

Some times when towing, I think that maybe another camera mounted under the 
trailer that could see all the wheels would be nice - watch for blowouts, etc.

I wish I had a color setup, but the B/W is better than nothing. I think a 
modern wireless color setup would easily be worth the hassle of installing 
it to look out the rear trailer window.
