Without elaborate engineering, it is not wise to attempt to change 
the riding heighth of your trailer from one dimension to another and 
then back again.

They can be raised by changing the axles, or by remounting the axles, 
permanently.

However, remounting the axles should only be done by someone that is 
well qualified to undertake such a task, and that is very familiar 
with the Airstream construction.

There are a number of structural conditions that must be adhered to, 
should the trailer be raised. If not, you will stand an excellent 
chance of considerable damage to the rest of the trailer.
