After you remove the residue that is actually the glue that was used to attach the covering to the aluminum seeping thru to the outside, it has been recommended to coat with Future wax to prevent the problem from recurring. We haven't done this yet, but others have, and is supposed to be an inexpensive cure. Tricia & Conrad
