I forgot to add that I also use a barrel style lock on the hitch.  It 
looks rather cheesy but you can't easilly get bolt cutters on it.

When out camping I just use the hitch lock, but when stored I use 
both the hitch lock and the boot.

Something I also thought of doing, was installing a hidden switch 
inside the trailer which would shut off the power to the electric 
tongue jack.  Now that would slow down a thief!
