RE: [A/S] size limitations in airstream parks?

Hi Joe in Kansas,
I too have a 34' Limited that I have had in 45 of the lower 48 states, 11
Canadian Provinces, and Alaska. The only place I have had the problem of not
being able to get in because of size was the water front campground in Key
West, FL. They are limited to 20 or 25 feet, but put me in touch with the
other park in Key West that could handle the 34'er with no problem. I do
screen as I trip plan if I just want to spend the night and not unhook. I am
55 feet long hooked up, and some places can't handle that length when I look
in the campground directories, so I don't go there.
I also agree with the ease of towing, and I think the stuff inside the 3
axle trailers gets a better ride. It takes a big hold to drop all three
wheels in at the same time, therefore, the trailer is always supported by
one or two wheels while the others drop in the hole. I also think a long
trailer is easier to back than a short one. You may have seen my post where
I could not make the 90 degree turn onto a one lane bridge in West, VA, and
had to back up for well over a mile down a one lane road. I found this very
easy with the 34' trailer.
