RTV Silicones is a family of products using several different curing 
methods. Some of the curing methods do not give off the acetic acid.

The RTV Silicone II GE product I mentioned here yesterday is one of those 
and can be obtained at Wal-Mart. The manufacturer says it is suitable for 
use on aluminum.
